Fishers Ghost..................................

Had a great time with the guys from the Advertiser at Campbelltown Art Centre yesterday taking photos to promote the Fishers Ghost Art Prize. Met two other artists Gina and her son, such nice people. Saw the amazing photographic works in the Gallery for the three surrounding Councils Nature Photographic competition..............................the space looked so professional. Impressed.
Zeus my entry, showed a bit of chest flesh in the photo, we gave a peak view of his head and chest and left the rest to be seen when he goes on display, probaly facing the naughty corner!!!!!!!

Well this years Fishers Ghost Art Prize will have an interesting piece of mine in the open section. I have been selected for the Open Section with my rather "happy" Zeus. I hope no one uses his piece of glory to hang their hat on!!!!!!!!!!! Lucky it's screwed on!
Opening night is Friday 2nd November at Campbelltown Art Centre

"Hairy Heracles" gets his hair

I was working on getting hair onto "Hairy Heracles" today. "Hairy" has been created for a show at Goulburn Regional Art Gallery for a show in December called "Come to your senses". At this show viewers can actually touch the artworks.
"Hairy" is shaping up rather well, but I think I will be short of brunette scalps from dolls. I was also thinking I may have to get in a real hairdresser in to give Hairy a decent beard cut.......................so he looks neat. Because he is the son of Zeus I feel he should not have that "rough" look.

I am back to blogging

The Studio downstairs just before my last solo at Side Tracked Depot in Bowral May this year.
Working on "Edna" there one of my flower heads (she was sold at the show so she left home!)

Lots of things have happened over the last 18 months. My work has progressed to mainly using only skin tone doll parts I seem to hav emoved away from the colourful toys. But guess what I still collect them and search for them in the op shops. I know one day I can make a great head from those toys so I am slightly overcrowded down stairs.

The show went really well in Bowral. I also had 2 of my faces in next door at the Milk Factory Gallery and sold one of them, which was great as "Athena" went home to another artist's house.

I am still hoping that a Sydney gallery will "find" me one day....it may happen soon as more and more of my pieces are springing up around the place.

Currently I have "Julia is always on Tony's mind" at the Blacktown City Art Prize,
"Juno, the other Hera" in the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize and hope fully
"Zeus" will be selected for the open section at Fisher's ghost Art Award.

I am back to my Blog, this time I will update regulary as I do not do facebook.

Yes I have been so slack for the past 18 months, but now I will try and update on a regular basis.

What is happening?

Well heaps is going with me and my art. I have many competitions I am entering this month, Goulburn Art Prize, the Wyyne, the Camden Art Prize, Wingecarrabi works on Paper and Thirroul Art Prize. So I am busy building ,y plastic entries. There is a preview of the pieces I am entering...................all a bit mad. Work, housework, kids, art and parents coming next week I may possibily need and extra 48 hours next week.

My very first blog

Well finally did it. Here it is, but in its newest form, I can guarantee I will change, delete, ad and update it regualry as I get better at this blogging stuff.I know there is heaps that I have forgotten to ad, it will come to me at 3am in the morning when I do my thinking (not switching the brain off that is).
